چکیده
Abstract We present laboratory rotational spectroscopy of five isomers cyanoindene (2-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7-cyanoindene) using a cavity Fourier transform microwave spectrometer operating between 6 40 GHz. Based on these measurements, we report the detection 2-cyanoindene (1H-indene-2-carbonitrile; 2- C 9 mathvariant="normal">H 7 CN ) in GOTHAM line survey observations dark molecular cloud TMC-1 Green Bank Telescope at centimeter wavelengths. Using combination Markov Chain Monte Carlo, spectral stacking, matched filtering techniques, find evidence for presence this molecule 6.3 σ level. This provides first direct observation ratio cyano-substituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon to its pure counterpart, case indene, same source. discuss possible formation chemistry species, including why have only detected one TMC-1. then examine overall hydrocarbon:CN-substituted across other simpler as well compare those ratios predicted by astrochemical models. conclude that while models are not yet sufficiently accurate reproduce absolute abundances they do good job predicting further solidifying -CN tagged species excellent proxies their fully symmetric counterparts.

Synthesis of 1-Hydroxy-2-(Prop-2'-Enyl) 9-Antrone
An efficient synthesis of the 1-hydroxy-2-(prop-2'-enyl)9-anthrone is described. Selective nitration of anthraquinone, reduction to the corresponding amine, diazotization and treatment by sulfuric acid solution afforded the 1-hydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone in good yield as the key intermediate. Reaction with allyl bromide/K2CO3 and subsequent selective reduction accompanie...
متن کاملSpitzer Observations of the Hh 1/2 System. the Discovery of the Counterjet
We present unpublished Spitzer IRAC observations of the HH 1/2 young stellar outflow processed with a high angular resolution deconvolution algorithm , that produces sub-arcsecond (∼ 0.6 0.8′′) images. In the resulting mid-infrared images, the optically invisible counterjet is detected for the first time. The counterjet is approximately half as bright as the jet at 4.5μm (the IRAC band that bes...

متن کاملIn situ observations of interstellar plasma with Voyager 1.
Launched over 35 years ago, Voyagers 1 and 2 are on an epic journey outward from the Sun to reach the boundary between the solar plasma and the much cooler interstellar medium. The boundary, called the heliopause, is expected to be marked by a large increase in plasma density, from about 0.002 per cubic centimeter (cm(-3)) in the outer heliosphere, to about 0.1 cm(-3) in the interstellar medium...
متن کاملConfronting Observations and Modeling: The Role of the Interstellar Magnetic Field in Voyager 1 and 2 Asymmetries
Magnetic effects are ubiquitous and known to be crucial in space physics and astrophysical media. We have now the opportunity to probe these effects in the outer heliosphere with the two spacecraft Voyager 1 and 2. Voyager 1 crossed, in December 2004, the termination shock and is now in the heliosheath. On August 30, 2007 Voyager 2 crossed the termination shock, providing us for the first time ...
